There are a bunch of brands/items/things I have come across over the past couple of years that I am so over the moon about, I will tell anybody about them who will listen. So I sat down the other day and I challenged myself to write down the first 3 "Must Have" items that came into my head. Here is what I wrote down:
I know, unitard seems a little bizarre, but more on that in a minute. Let's start at the top :-)
Topo sneakers are life changing. For years, I only wore Brooks to run. I swore by them. But a couple of years ago my steady brand started to not feel as good on my feet as they used to. I also started to feel lots of annoying aches and pains in my shins and calves. It was as if my joints were absorbing the full shock of the pavement instead of my sneakers buffering it a little! I went to PR Running AKA, The Best Running Store in the World (if you know, you know), and the sales guy introduced me to my first pair of Topo sneakers. I immediately felt a sense of relief when I put them on my feet. They have a very wide toe bed which is IDEAL for fat feet like mine, and just the way my foot was positioned in the shoe felt pretty amazing. Taking them out on my first run, I felt a wave of relief wash over me as the shin and calf pain I had been suffering with completely disappeared. I HIGHLY recommend these shoes to all you runners out there!
Ok, now it's time for the unitard. I know it sounds silly and to be honest, it looks a little offbeat as well, but I DON'T CARE. When you are working out in the pool and giving 100% in your tuck jumps and high knees, the last thing you want to worry about is something falling out. Trust me, it happens and it ain't pretty and it's certainly not pleasant. This beautyin unitard is the most comfortable and supportive swim suit I have EVER worn. It keeps you snug and supported in all the right places and dries very quickly so you can use it for all your summer adventures that involve the water. I wore this thing last summer when I jumped in and out of pools in a 6 hour swim/run charity race and it was feeling just as good on the last mile as it did on the first. And you can't beat the price!!
And finally, a good journal. I carry my journal around with me all the time. I plan workouts in it, make to-do lists, write down random things I think about that I don't want to forget and sometimes even actually journal about what I'm feeling at a specific moment in time. I don't know what I would do without my journal in reach. And I love being able to flip through and see all the things that I have thought, done and felt over a specific period of time. I have tons of journals laying around and I will never throw any of them away. Looking back at these personal records can help explain things and remind you of experiences you may have completely forgotten. And most of them time, they give me a really good laugh.
Now it's YOUR turn! Think fast...what are your 3 Must Haves?
